She's Feeling Better

Well, she's bossing me around again, so she's feeling much better. She's telling me to update her blog and let everyone know she's not dead. Kelly really didn't like the tone of my last update(neither did Marla), so this will probably be my last update for her. I'm fired.

A lot of people have been very concerned since the last post, understandably so. Well, turn your concern meters down a notch, Kelly is feeling much better. The seizure just scared the crap out of both of us and it took her over a week to recover. She's recovered and has a list of projects for me. Funny how that works.

She's planning on having her nails done today, if that's any indication.

We're scheduled to see the doctors at UCSF on 8/22/07 and we're planning on taking her to MD Anderson in Houston. We don't feel the doctors here are paying that much attention to her case. There is no "project manager" and too many things fall through the cracks so she fired them. Funny how their level of care and follow up has improved since we told them we're leaving.

Email is the best way to communicate with Kelly, she enjoys spending time on the computer. Her email address is kcsewart@yahoo.com.

We really appreciate all the support and are thankful for everyone.

David

Whew!
Thank you so much for bringing us up to speed - Praise God that you are feeling better Kelly!
Talk about having the crap scared out of you - we were with you on that. That was one major seizure and must have been a frightening experience, it's not surprising that you were wiped out for days afterwards.
I pray that you feel stronger each day. Let yourself relax and let David do all the projects. It is exhausting enough getting a man to follow through with these things!
(Sorry David, but that's been my experience!)
Love you guys,
Cousin Kathy and Aunt Lillian
OXOXOXOXOXO

Ok, after much contemplation I am now ready to put in my two cents!
David, don't be fooled about how she may or may not be feeling according to her bossiness level. We are Casas women. We will "direct" the men in our lives up to the time of our last breath. Speaking of last breath.....you are correct, I did not like your tone Mister & you are definately fired. I actually called Kel & discussed the disappointment I had over her allowing you such liberty. I think she was afraid of my possible update & felt you might be a better choice for the mission. Guess she learned her lesson!
I cannot understand why everyone is in meltdown mode over this seizure business in the first place. Let's think this through. 5 weeks with the Hansen clan including grandchildren followed by a massive seizure. Makes sense to me! Have none of you people ever read my Christmas letters??
Now for the nails. Again, not a good indicator of how she is really feeling. I believe my mother was in a semi-coma when she came out long enough to ask for her nail girl. This made perfect sense to two out of her three daughters. I won't say which two!
Now about your fancy smancy UCSF doctors. My mother always said if you can't say something nice don't say anything. Since I never listened to what my mother said a day in my life I will tell you exactly what I think. It took Char going psycho on Dr. Aziz, me calling his nurse a liar & both of us calling there on a daily basis demanding records be sent to MD Anderson before forward movement came out of them. Again, men seem to have this need to be "directed" by Casas women, that's all I'm saying.
By the way, I told Kelly I looked up her specific malady. No joke, it is listed as extremely common in DOGS! This would tend to explain why all the CAT & PET scans have been done. It did make me wonder if all those times I thought Kelly was barfing in the commode, she was in actuality, drinking from it.
I am very happy & relieved we are going to MD Anderson. They have been calling here daily working on getting things ready for you, Kel. I was thinking this might be one of the reasons God had us move to Oklahoma all those years ago. Now when you go to Houston I can interpret for you! I may even make a study sheet for you so you can hone up on the language before you get there. This will be very important in order for you to be able to follow directions from the Hunky Texan doctors. For instance:
ERA ~ "Ms. Sewart, puhleese folla that era to the MRI room."
ASCOT ~ "Ms. Sewart, puhleese don't get yer ascot in the door of the machine."
Yep, I think y'all just might need a study sheet!
Love ya & can't wait to see ya!

Hi Kelly and David,
So glad to hear that you are both feeling better and sounds like making some postive medical changes. I know the fight and spirit that Kelly has, and my money is always on her to win any and every battle. You are both loved and prayed for on a daily basis. I would love to see you sometime soon. When the time is right. Just know until then you are always in my thoughts and prayers and heart.
Love, Lenora

Please tell David he has my sympathy. This family is really full of a bunch of pushy women and no man stands a chance, as of course, it should be! David, don't feel pushed out it's just the way we are, push back! Maureen

Kel & David,

Glad things are looking up! Kelly has always had a flair for the dramatic! Rememeber our juniorette's play? It had to be all about Kelly's Slumber Party!

Love and prayers,
